Logistics is the management of the movement of goods and materials from origin to destination. It can be a process that carries significant financial risk. This activity is a key element that requires integration with all other activities involved in the supply chain. The process and risks become greater when the transaction is international. This program will assure that delegates understand all of the major aspects of international logistics including establishing the terms and conditions of the sales contract, determination of the total cost of acquiring the goods, and the physical movement of the goods via the selected modes of transportation. All of these topics are essential to successfully managing international logistics activities.

The program is designed to enable participants to understand best-management practices confronting modern commercial airports serving wide diversity of aviation clients. A challenging “Course Integration Exercise” enables participants to apply strategies and develop effective working relationships with other participants from all over the world. Participants will, in addition, learn to develop corporate strategies for addressing marketing opportunities and competitive threats. They will be expected to demonstrate use of various performance management systems such as Balanced Scorecard and Total Quality Management to ensure effective action towards adopted corporate strategies.

Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of the latest security initiatives, their implementation and implications. The program will carry-out an in-depth review of selected government programs relating to air cargo security, the planning and execution of effective crisis management strategies, the minimization of operational exposure through proper risk management techniques. Participants will benefit from “hands-on” learning with industry leaders. There will also be a review and discussion of Annex 17 recommendations and guidelines.
Best Practices in Aviation & Maritime Cargo Security & Control

The participants will learn how to build a safe and secure Global Air Transportation System through the implementation of enhanced regulations, reliable technology, and best management practices. Participants will also acquire knowledge, techniques, and skills necessary for developing and managing international civil aviation security, as well as in measuring its performance. The program will further focus on the identification and management of security risks, how to communicate effectively on security with the Civil Aviation Authority, airlines, cargo agencies, airport service providers and other security agencies. Other topics to be covered include building a security culture in the aviation environment, management of the organization and the installation of a systemic approach to aviation security, the integration of human factors to the civil aviation security system, and the evaluation of the operation of the security system.
